As a sociologist and a performance artist, Kimberly Dark uses entertainment to illuminate potentially contentious cultural themes. She calls it Artistic Activism and does so in order to open dialogue about themes that are hard to discuss - gender, sexuality, the environment, parenting, poverty, race, and privilege. She believes we have to have fun while making the world a better place, so in addition to being a scholar, she is a poet and an entertaining storyteller. Dark says "... new stories are like water seeping into the granite of the status quo. Through humor and beauty and pain and fear and hope, people can connect and systems that seem built of stone start to crumble - slowly at times, quickly too. Rather than forcing change, we inspire change. That is the power of artistic activism."
"Kimberly Dark has a way of captivating people with her stories about gender, sexuality, violence against women, and media generated ideas of beauty ... vivid imagery and words help reel audiences into each other’s struggles and ultimately their own ...” --The Commonwealth Times (Richmond, Virginia)

Kit HolmesKnown for her captivating live shows and compelling songwriting Grammy Award Nominee Kit Holmes merges her extensive musical talents, creative insight and spiritual journey experiences into ear-pleasing piano-driven, jazz-infused pop. Deeply insightful and often deceptively humorous lyrics, lush arrangements and stellar vocals round out the package.
She regularly travels the country sharing her humorous, sometimes irreverent and always deeply moving music and message as a guest speaker, in concert and in teaching workshops on music and spirituality.
Holmes sings of life in her latest album "Return to Love" which "finds Holmes reaching a level of musical craftsmanship and depth of feeling that is quite impressive and impossible to ignore." (All About Jazz - Review Oct. 18, 2011). As an added layer of depth, Kit is a licensed Religious Science Practitioner through Centers for Spiritual Living and in March of 2011 became the Music Minister at the Unity Church of Wimberley, Texas. Her plans for world domination via love and laughter are unfolding beautifully.
